How We Are Lady Parts Breathes Fresh Air Into Worn and Tired Sitcom Rules
Nida Manzoor’s off-beat coming-of-age comedy is must-watch tv.
With the rise of streaming content, finding something worthwhile to watch can sometimes feel, well, pointless. You have to sort through an overwhelming amount of mediocre content to find something worth watching: something different, engaging, and most of all, compelling.
As viewers, we settle for less than excellent storytelling, character development, and production value, all in the name of relieving boredom. Several hours later, we’ve wasted our time and received no real satisfaction in the process.
Most of the time, we’re grateful for the background noise so we can zone out and not think about “the year that wasn’t” because of Covid. The vicious cycle of streaming is something we all wish we could break, myself included.
This time was different.
